The Enneagram Series - Personality Type 6, The Loyalist

This article is the seventh in this series of articles on the Enneagram. If you have not read them, I recommend you read the previous articles in the series before you read this.

Trinity: Type 6 is the core type of mind the Trinity, with types 5 and 7 are variant.
Core beliefs:. The world is unsafe and threatening, I have to be devoted to the question of authority

With this core belief six focus attention on looking for what can go wrong, is there any danger, and who can not believe it. The danger caused by the emotion of fear. Sixes deal with this fear in two ways: they show fear and seek approval (phobic sixes), or to hide their fear through the daring and conflicts (Counterphobic sixes). In reality, sixes often display elements and attributes.

with its focus scan the environment around them for the trouble / risk sixes develop sharp minds. They have the ability to spot problems or problems ahead and can plan ahead to avoid them. They make a great trouble-shooters, led the company to see what is going wrong (or might go wrong), and find a way to determine (avoiding) the situation.

at its best, sixes are very loyal. On May take some time to win their trust, but once you do, sixes will stand by you. They are very kind and compassionate. They are also very pragmatic and useful. They can help you see what might otherwise have missed, and find solutions, exploring more options and decide which one is right for you. While highly loyal, sixes may also be wary of authority. They can test the power to find out if the person (s) is worthy of their trust. This wariness of government means that they are often attracted by the rise of the underdog in the situation

downside anxiously looking for trouble / danger is that you can become hyper-vigilant and spot problems / dangers where none may exist. Imagining the worst, they continued to run his thoughts to the point where they start to accept your imagination as reality, they have forgotten that it was just 'what if' scenario of paranoia and started in. At this point they can become very defensive and inflexible, and sometimes cause fear of outcomes is through their behavior, reactions to perceived threats.

Examples of sixes (real and / or fictional)
Woody Allen (actor and director)
Private Detective Magazine (UK)
Richard Nixon (U.S. President)
Julia Roberts (actress)
Princess Diana (Duchess of Wales)

Keep in mind that this is a general introduction to personality types and help you get a basic level of understanding of the Enneagram. For a fuller understanding, I recommend further reading, and ideally experience Enneagram course.
